"Willing and Waiting" was recorded by Babyface in 1994 as a possible contender for the HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I album. Brad Sundberg explained during his In the Studio with MJ seminars, that Michael passed on it as he felt it was "too soft" for the direction the album was headed.
On January 27, 2023, Babyface's demo was leaked after Sundberg's laptop was stolen.
