Background[]
Two weeks before Jackson passed away in June 25, 2009, he created an unreleased track with Chopra. According to him, it's one of, if not the, last song the artist has ever worked on. He died before getting to write down any lyrics and Chopra was still in contact with him twenty four hours before his passing.[1]
“ | Michael called me a while ago and he said he wanted to do something for the environment and he had written a piece of music that he arranged [...] So it is in fact the last piece he did. We were going to write the words for it. We were talking about how to reframe our perspective of what the environment is. [...] | ” |
–Deepak Chopra on the song[2] |
A snippet of the track was played during an interview that took days after Michael's passing. As there is no actual title available, fans unofficially dubbed it "River Ripple". It's unknown if what leaked is the full track or just a part of it.
