On June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson died while in his rented mansion, 3 weeks
before the " This Is It " tour. He was reportedly not breathing and CPR was performed. Resuscitation efforts continued en route to the Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center, and for more than an hour after arriving there at 1:13. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Global mourning
The news spread, the whole world went into deep sorrow. Websites began to crash due to the user overload. Fans gathered around Jackson's childhood home and Neverland Ranch with flowers, pictures, candle lights and playing Michael Jackson songs all day and night.
Memorial service
The memorial service of Michael Jackson was held on July 7, 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Mariah Carey, Usher, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, John Mayer, Jennifer Hudson, Jermaine Jackson and Shaheen Jafargholi performed at the event. Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson gave beautiful eulogies, while Queen Latifah read " We Had Him " by Maya Angelou. Al Sharpton was given a satnding ovation once he told Michael's children,"Wasnt nothing starnge about him at all. It was strange what he dealt with, but he dealt with it anyway." The memorial was best remembered when daughter Paris gave spoke for the first time publicly and cried.

On May 16, 2013, former friend of Michael Jackson Wade Robson went on The Today Show and said Michael allegedly molested him for seven years. Later Jimmy Safechuck sued the Michael Jackson estate, claiming Jackson sexually abused him from age 10 to 15 in the 1980s.
November 3, 2010, the theatrical performing company Cirque du Soleil announced that it would launch Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Rour in October in Montreal.
On March 31, 2014, Epic Records announced a brand new album of unreleased Michael Jackson under the title Xscape.
During the 2014 Billboard Music Award a Michael Jackson hologram perofrmed to Michael's new song " Slave to the Rhythm".
