"Superfly Sister" (originally titled "Superfly Soul Sister"[1]) is a song written and produced by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson released as the third track from the Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix album.
Background[]
"Superfly Sister" was written and produced with Bryan Loren and recorded in 1990 at Record One for inclusion on the Dangerous album. However, it was unfinished, so it was left off the album. The original, 7-minute-long rough mix was put on auction in February and April 2025 through gottahaverockandroll.com.[2]
"Superfly Sister" was eventually completed at the Record Plant for Blood on the Dance Floor in 1997, with Loren adding the guitar solo and a keyboard part and Jackson recording the ad-libs.[3] Otherwise, it was largely the same as from the Dangerous sessions.
