"Still the King" (often referred to as "I'm Still the King") is an unreleased song written and produced by American singer-songwriters Michael Jackson and will.i.am. It is unknown what project it was intended for.
Background[]
Jackson and will.i.am recorded "Still the King" during their studio sessions in 2006 at the Grouse Lodge studio in Westmeath, Ireland.[1] It's rumored, that it was planned to feature some of the biggest artists at the time like Usher or Ne-Yo, but this is unconfirmed. Considering the time period, it was likely intended for the scrapped eleventh studio album.
"Still the King" is known to have been considered for Michael, the posthumous 2010 album, although it ultimately didn't make the cut. This is likely due to will.i.am not wanting most of the songs released without approval from Jcksona.[1]
Trivia[]
- A snippet of the track is rumored to had been featured in the 2006 interview with Access Hollywood.[2]
