Deborah Christine "Siedah" Garrett is an American singer and songwriter who has written songs and performed backing vocals for many artists in the music industry, most notably including Michael Jackson.
Meeting & work[]
First time Garrett met with Michael Jackson was in May of 1987. She helped co-write "Man in the Mirror" and was featured as the backing vocalist on the track. The other day, Garrett was told to come to the studio, thinking she'd do overdubs for Man In The Mirror. She was surprised to learn she was going to duet with Jackson on "I Just Can't Stop Loving You".[1]
Garrett would later work with Jackson during the Dangerous tour where she'd make guest appearances while performing "I Just Can't Stop Loving You".
