Scream is a posthumous, Halloween-themed compilation album credited to American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson, released through Epic Records on September 27, 2017. It features previously released songs by Jackson with the addition of a new mash-up done by the White Panda, "Blood on the Dance Floor X Dangerous".
Contents[]
Besides the album, the record included a poster of Jackson. It featured an AR experience, where, if pointed at with a smartphone, it would convert the poster into 3D. This was likely included due to the success of Nintendo's Pokémon GO video game a year prior.
Reception[]
Scream was largely criticized by many of Jackson's fans, as they felt the new release from the Michael Jackson Estate was rather a cash grab. The album's promo made it seem as though Scream was the next big release from the King of Pop when it was only a compilation.
The track list was criticized as well, as many felt songs like "Leave Me Alone" or "Unbreakable" had nothing in common with the album's themes.[1]
