Remembering Our Michael (also known as Remembering Michael) is a cancelled documentary created by Katherine, Paris, Prince, and Bigi Jackson. It was made as a tribute to their father, Michael Jackson, following his passing in 2009. The film never saw its release due to struggles with being able to fund the project.
Synopsis[]
No official synopsis is currently available, but Katherine described the film as a “tribute documentary film project that Michael’s children Paris, Prince, Blanket and I have been working on for years."
| “ | Our goal with this film is to share a positive, loving and respectful tribute to Michael, who spent his entire life sharing his gifts with the great hope of making the world a better place. | ” |

Background[]
Following Michael's passing in June 2009, his family began working on the film soon after. A lot of footage was shot, mainly interviews with the aforementioned family members. In December of 2013, Katherine released a letter on fundanything.com, asking Jackson's fans for financial support to release the film and ultimately reach $3.2 million, to complete the development, and especially license songs and images from the Michael Jackson Estate.[1]
Only a week later, Michael's mother and/or her team pulled the plug on the campaign. Katherine would be accused of scamming the fans, since, as TMZ had revealed, Jackson's Estate was never contacted about licensing anything for the documentary. The site also stated a source close to Katherine told them the money was refunded to fans, but that they "can't confirm it".[2]
Ever since, the film hasn't been fully released. In 2020, a YouTube channel, Jacksonology (re-titled to Jackson fam interview archive), seemingly with someone who worked on Remembering Our Michael, released archival interviews with Michael's children.[3] However, most videos are currently either unlisted, private, or deleted, as only the interview with Paris is up on the channel.[4] In 2023, another channel, Celebrity Classified, began releasing a lot more footage from the documentary.[5]
