"Off the Wall" is a song by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson released as the fifth track from the 1979 album of the same name. It was released as a single on November 17, 1979, serving as the third single from the album. It was released again as a single in Japan in 1981.

"Off the Wall" was written by Rod Temperton, produced by Quincy Jones, and recorded between December 1978–April 1979 at Allen Zentz Recording, Westlake Recording, and Cherokee Studios, all located in Los Angeles.

Live performances[]
"Off the Wall" was first performed during the second leg of the Destiny World Tour. It'd go on to be performed during the Triumph and Victory Tours. Jackson performed the song during the 1987 leg of his Bad World Tour. He also performed it during the HIStory World Tour, but only as part of the "Off the Wall Medley" on certain concerts in the first leg (1996–1997).
