"Love Never Felt So Good" is a previously unreleased song by Michael Jackson released as the first track from his second and final posthumous album, Xscape. It was released as a single on May 2, 2014, serving as the lead single from the record.
Three versions of the recording were officially released: a duet featuring Justin Timberlake, a solo remix, and the original demo.
Background[]
"Love Never Felt So Good" was co-written, co-produced with Paul Anka and recorded in 1980. Just like the other two ("It Don't Matter to Me" and "I Never Heard"), this collaboration was going to end up on Anka's 1983 album, Walk a Fine Line. Unfortunately, it didn't make the cut and ended up on Johnny Mathis' A Special Part of Me a year later.
In 2006, a low-quality version of the demo would leak online. Four years later, the track was brought out of the vault for the Michael album, and produced by John McClain and Giorgio Tuinfort, although it stayed unreleased. In the same year, an HQ version of the demo would leak online. Finally, the exact rework made for Michael ended up on Xscape.[1] Besides the solo version, a duet remix between Michael and Justin Timberlake produced by Timbaland and J-Roc was made, which became one of the biggest hits in Jackson's discography.

"Love Never Felt So Good" received two music videos for both of the released reworks. These feature fans dancing, mimicking Michael's moves, and generally paying tribute to the King of Pop.
Another video was uploaded on May 15, titled "Classic MJ x Love Never Felt So Good", which was more of a compilation of old Jackson footage.
Live performance[]
On May 1, 2014, "Love Never Felt So Good" would be presented for the first time during the iHeartRadio Music Awards. The performance featured Usher alongside multiple dancers.[2]
