For two years, starting in December 2006, Michael Jackson rented multiple residences in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S. The artist had lived there with his children (Prince, Paris and Bigi) up until December of 2008, when Jackson returned to California, now renting a Los Angeles mansion, located in Holmby Hills.

Background[]

After having returned to U.S. from living in Bahrain for almost a year, Michael moved to Las Vegas in December 2006. Jackson has always enjoyed visiting Vegas, as the laws were rather relaxed and paparazzi weren't allowed. Additionally, Janet, Randy and Joe Jackson have all lived in Las Vegas at the time as well, therefore it made sense for the King of Pop to move in.

Mansions[]

2785 S. Monte Cristo Way[]

The first mansion in Las Vegas that Michael had rented and moved into is located at 2785 S. Monte Cristo Way. He'd live there from December 2006 'til July 2008, paying $50,000 monthly in rent. The house is built in a Roman-style, is 17,500 sq ft. and features eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms.[1]

Thriller Villa[]

Thriller Villa (also titled Thrilla Villa) is a title given to a mansion located at 2710 Palomino Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada. Michael rented and lived in the house for only a few months from July 'til December 2008. After Michael left it, the house went on sale for $9.5 million in 2016.[2]

Wonderland[]

Prior to his passing, Michael considered moving into another, 10-acre compound includes the 15,000 square foot compound, dubbed by Michael as "Wonderland". He was apparently ecstatic over the place and planned to move in after This Is It was finished.[3]

Trivia[]

  • In early 2007, Michael was proposed to the idea of beginning his comeback shows in Las Vegas, although it never came to fruition.[4]
  • In the Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland biopic, which details the artist's final years, Jackson's actual Vegas residences aren't present, and instead the film presents a story of Jackson eyeing the Wonderland compound and his plans for purchasing it.
