Background[]
Al Green wrote this song with Teenie Hodges, with whom he also collaborated in writing other songs. It was produced by Willie Mitchell in the 1972 recording session for the album Call Me.
Michael first recorded his own version on June 6, 1973, post-Music & Me, and pre-Forever Michael. The cover didn't make the cut and stayed unreleased for years, until it was picked up again for the Farewell My Summer Love album and released.
