"Get Your Weight Off of Me" (also known as "Can't Get Your Weight Off of Me", commonly abbreviated as "GYWOOM") is an unreleased song written and produced by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson intended for the Invincible album. The recording got initially leaked online in MQ after being purchased through eBay on August 22, 2023. On March 30, 2024 the original, uncut recording of the song was leaked after a successful crowdfunding. (

"Get Your Weight Off of Me" was recorded by Michael alongside others between 1999-2000. It was produced with Rodney Jerkins with additional vocals being provided by LaShawn Daniels. The song depicts a problematic relationship and all the pressure (or known "weight") Michael needs to get off him.
The track never made it on the Invincible album, however the original demo was later considered for The Ultimate Collection box set in June 2004.[1][2] As it was once again discarded, the song was unfortunately never released.

In 2010, a collector, Korg Nex uploaded the first snippet of "Get Your Weight Off of Me" on his SoundCloud, titled "King of Music Forever by KorgNex". More and more snippets started to surface over the years. For 13 years (2010-2023), "Get Your Weight Off of Me" was regarded in the fan community as their most wanted unreleased track. Multiple one-to-five-second snippets had been leaking online ever since. In 2017, the MJCast podcast asked Michael Prince about the song and its details, playing it to the crew and revealing a couple details concerning the file he owned.[1] A year later, a CD of the track was attempted to be sold on an auction with a minimal bid of $100K, but no one bidded.[3] It was later sold at an auction in 2021 to a fan in the UK for £1K.
On January 6, 2021, a DIY instrumental of "Get Your Weight Off of Me" was unofficially and satirically uploaded to Bryan Loren's Spotify profile by a Discord user. It created a lot of confusion around the fan community, and the instrumental was removed from streaming months later.[4]
On June 26, 2022, a seminar was held by Michael Prince and Brad Buxer at Dierks Studios in Cologne, Germany for Making HIStory with MJ. As many unheard songs were played, including "Get Your Weight Off of Me", Prince's wife specifically made an announcement asking for those attending to not record them. However, few of the attending didn't listen and recorded multiple tracks (e.g. "Adore You", "Water" or "Michael's Affirmation"), snippets of which would leak sooner or later. In July of 2022, recordings of the first verse and the chorus of "Get Your Weight Off of Me" from the seminar found their way online.
In August 2023, a MQ version of the full song was traded in numerous places, most notably eBay. User AYDOMAX finally leaked the track on August 22, 2023. However, the leak was severely edited and cut short to 4:18. This featured a fan-made intro, the track being sped up, and one of the choruses being cut out.[5]
In March 2024, a crowdfunding began in order to receive the unedited, HQ, 5:17 recording of "Get Your Weight Off of Me". Finally, on March 30, the full length song was leaked online in hiqh quality by Greg Sandoval.[6]

- A popular misconception is that the track was worked on in later years (2004 specifically), although this is false, as the mix reused for The Ultimate Collection was the same as the one initially meant for Invincible.[2]
- The auctioned CD had the date of March 31, 2014 written down on it. Although it coincides with that of Xscape's announcement, it's unknown if it was ever considered for the posthumous release, although it's likely that it was considered for the album at some point, but just didn't make the cut.
- Following it's leak, it was confirmed an ad-lib used in the song was reused for the Eddie Cascio track "Monster".[7]
- Fans speculated that this song evolved into "Privacy", although this is most likely false.
