From Heaven is an unreleased project created by various artists and musicians as a tribute to American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson. The project consists of a tribute album and a documentary regarding Jackson's Summer 2006 studio sessions at the Grouse Lodge in Ireland.

Although never officially confirmed, this project is speculated to have been most likely scrapped due to lack of approval from the Michael Jackson Estate, as well as some of the participating artists.

Background[]

Ireland sessions[]

In May 2006, Jackson left Bahrain for Ireland, where during the Summer, he continued working on his musical comeback at the Grouse Lodge Studios, owned by Paddy and Claire Dunning. There, he recorded music with Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am. The latter confirmed three titles to have come out of these sessions: "Still the King", "Dreaming", and "I Will Miss You", but otherwise this period has stayed relatively unknown, besides the two being briefly interviewed about it by Access Hollywood.[1]

In December 2006, Jackson left Ireland for Las Vegas, and although he was apparently meant to come back and finish these songs, he never got to.

From Heaven[]

According to one of the first reports regarding the project, Paddy allegedly already had the project in mind for a decade, but decided on not landing a deal with any major production companies as "it never felt right". In 2022, work started in co-operation with Korean company Fandom Studio, as the world started recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.[2] Paddy began the project, as he "decided that the world needed a new injection of positivity".

We want to return to Grouse Lodge with some of Michael’s closest friends, collaborators, and key artists influenced by him to recapture the spirit of Michael’s time there and pay tribute to him. The final result will be an inspired album featuring the artists most influenced by Michael and a full-length documentary about the process of making the album.

Release[]

First reports and speculations on a tribute album were revealed in March 2023, when the president of the Michael Jackson Chinese Fanclub, Keen Zhang, revealed he received information on American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars and member of BTS, Jungkook, participating in the project, which would include 10 never-heard songs, produced by will.i.am, Neff-U and Rodney Jerkins.[4][5] It was said to be released in early May or June of the same year, although this didn't come to fruition. At the time, it was presumed that the Michael Jackson Estate blocked its release.[6]

Although many presumed the album to have been a hoax, the reports persisted. On October 11, 2023, a Korean reporter stated the project was still in works, now under the title Timeless Melodies. The article mentioned Canadian R&B singer-songwriter, The Weeknd, joining the project. This article isn't confirmed to include real information, as it mentions Tesfaye not only sang on the songs, but also composed and produced them, and that the album would be distributed in co-operation with Fandom Studio and Warner Music.[7]

On June 19, 2024, an interview with Fandom Studio was released, where they mentioned the project would incorporate NFTs.[8] On February 13, 2025, a similar report was made by Punkvism, but the project's title was once again changed to Eternal Moon.[9] On February 9, 2025, a video on the project was released by Punkvism, starring Jerkins, where he discussed his work with Jackson in Ireland, and the tribute album itself.[10] On August 3, 2025, the website for the project was officially launched, alongside a description and a sizzle reel.[3] The Sun released a report on the project as well, where Paddy Dunning himself told the news outlet about the involvement of the K-pop band BTS, and that Jackson's estate did approve it.[11] Immediately, Zhang once again brought up his old posts, revealing that the participating artists had been Anderson .Paak, SZA, Jungkook, Doja Cat, and Bruno Mars as of 2023.[12]

Decline[]

On August 4, 2025, after e-mailing the MJ Online Team, their response claimed the project wasn't actually approved by Jackson's estate.[13] On the same day, BTS' official social media released a statement debunking their involvement in the project.[14] The website was soon taken down.

Documentary[]

With the website's launch, it was confirmed that a documentary for From Heaven would be released as well, focusing on all stories regarding Jackson's stay in Ireland, and especially the studio. A trailer was uploaded, but is now gone alongside the website itself.

Trivia[]

  • Although Jerkins and Neff-U are said to have had a major input into the project, there is no proof of them having worked with Jackson at Grouse Lodge at all.
  • It is speculated that the record would also feature original compositions made by Jackson's producers.
