"For the World" is an unreleased song by Michael Jackson likely intended for the Invincible album and intended for the scrapped eleventh studio album.
Background[]
The track was registered with the U.S. Copyright Office in 2010. It credits Neff-U as the producer. According to Damien Shields, it dates back to "sometime from 1998 onwards" but doesn't know which year specifically. Considering the producer, it could've been between 2008 and 2009.[1] It includes mumbled vocals and apparently also lasts 2 minutes.
“ | Starts with a beat which reminded me of “Free” from Bad 25 and “The Loser”. Lyrics: “Da da dadadada dee” (mumbling - includes the words “sun” and “trees” randomly) followed by “we do it for the world (x4)” followed by “alright” ad lib and some “ooo” vocals. [...] According to my notes it has beat, sakers, bass and strings. It’s a light production. Not heavy. It has a similar, light, breezy vibe to the verses on “Free”. Lyrics mostly mumbled. It’s a demo. Ends after 2 mins when MJ stops the track and gives notes/instructions. That’s it [...] Sometime from 1998 onwards. But I don’t know which year, sorry. | ” |
Trivia[]
- Some fans speculated over the years. that a snippet of this song can be heard in the MICHAEL: The Making of the Album documentary, although this is completely false, as confirmed by Damien Shields.[5][6]
