"Don't Be Messin' 'Round" is a previously unreleased song by Michael Jackson released as the twelfth track on Bad 25. It made it's debut as the B-side to the 2012 reissue of the "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" single.
Background[]
The song was recorded throughout multiple points of Jackson's career, seemingly being one of his favorite songs he crafted. It was re-recorded numerous times since it's creation in the Fall of 1981 at Hayvenhurst, being re-recorded between February 19, 1986 and the 2000s. It was considered for 6 studio albums by Jackson, the most out of every known song by the artist, these albums are Thriller, Bad, Dangerous (retitled to "Messin' 'Round), HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I, and the scrapped eleventh studio album (retitled again to "Don't Be Messin'" and revealed by fan and researcher Damien Shields who had access to unpublished notes found in his Los Angeles house[1]). Unfortunately, it was completely left off on all of the albums.
The song's producers changed over time as well. The Thriller version had Jackson himself credited only, but the Bad version was made with Bill Bottrell, the Dangerous version was made with Teddy Riley at Record One, and the 2000s rework had Brad Buxer tinkering with it.[2] It's unknown however if Jackson had ever re-recorded the vocals past the album sessions it originated from.

Are you ready for a real good time?
Are you ready for a real good treat?
There'll be so much dancing, singing
Are you the girl, meant to me
[Chorus]
So don’t be messin' 'round, don’t be messin' 'round (With me)
Don’t be messin' 'round (With me), hey, hey, hey
So don’t be messin' 'round, don’t be messin' 'round (With me)
Don’t be messin' 'round (With me), hey
[Verse 2]
If I started now in the deep
Think you said this feeling is your life
I’ll be so proud if you let me love you, girl
Let me love you for a little while

Don’t be messing around (With me) hey hey hey
So don’t be messing around, don’t be messing around

O-ho, yeah, o-ho, yeah, o-ho, yeah
[Verse 3]
Now, she started finger-popping to the beat
So I said let’s get right on the floor
She said to keep your mind on dancing
Won't be no romancing
No, no, don't mess around with me
I ain't playing
[Chorus]
Don’t be messing around, don’t be messing around (with me)
