"Butter Funk" is an unreleased song by Michael Jackson intended for the scrapped eleventh studio album.

Background[]

"Butter Funk" was first acknowledged through its registration with the U.S. Copyright Office in 2010. Jackson and Michael Prince for the recording, meaning it could've been produced solely by Michael.^[1] The song also most definitely originates from the late 2000s.

On October 21, 2022, Damien Shields confirmed through the X social media platform, that what he heard of "Butter Funk" is an instrumental.^[2]
