"Boots Groove" is an unreleased song written and produced by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson intended for the Off the Wall album.
Background[]
"Boots Groove" is a working title for a song described as having a similar sound to "Get on the Floor". Based on that, it is plausible that it evolved into the song.[1] It was co-produced with Quincy Jones, and recorded by Jackson during the Off the Wall sessions. The full runtime is 4:49.
A rough mix tape from March 31, 1979, listed it as "Boot's Song". However, no further information is available, including what state of completion it is in. The track was played during one of Brad Sundberg's In The Studio With MJ seminars. A fan stated the track has full vocals, but it's unconfirmed and unlikely to be the case.[2] The title refers to bassist Louis Johnson, whose nickname was "Boots".[3]
