"Another Part of Me" is a song by Michael Jackson released as the sixth track from the Bad album. It was released as a single on July 11, 1988, serving as the sixth single from the album.
Background[]
"Another Part of Me" was initially written and recorded at Westlake in Spring of 1985 for the Captain EO movie. The lyrics emphasize global unity, love, outreach and possible religious themes. During the Bad sessions with Quincy Jones and the "A-team", the song's production was updated, eventually being finalized on May 27, 1987. Unbeknownst to the song's original engineer Matt Forger, they used the original Captain EO master for the final song, rather than re-cutting it from scratch like the rest of the Bad album.[1]
The track ultimately replaced "Streetwalker" - another song that was very close to making it on Bad's track list.

In an early DAT dating August 12, 1987 however, it was planned that both of the tracks were to be on the album.

The track didn't gain a proper music video and the released clip features footage from the Bad World Tour. It was directed by Patrick T. Kelly and released on July 30, 1988.[3]
