The 30th Annual Grammy Awards were held March 2, 1988, at Radio City Music Hall, New York City. Michael Jackson was present at the ceremony.
Nominations[]
- Album of the Year - Bad by Michael Jackson
- Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance - Male - Bad by Michael Jackson
- Pop Male Vocalist - Bad by Michael Jackson
- Producer Of The Year - Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson[1]
Awards[]
Unlike 4 years prior, despite being nominated for 4 awards, Jackson unfortunately won zero awards that night. Michael was very visibly saddened, as he wrote the Bad album with it beating all records Thriller set in mind.
Performances[]
The same night, Michael performed two of his new songs: "The Way You Make Me Feel" followed by "Man in the Mirror". The first track featured a never heard before, slow, minute and a half long intro, while the latter featured a choir singing alongside Jackson.
