"(I Like) The Way You Love Me" (originally titled "The Way You Love Me") is a previously unreleased song performed by Michael Jackson and first released as the fifty-sixth track on The Ultimate Collection as a demo. The demo isn't currently available on streaming services, but can be purchased through iTunes.
It was eventually later reworked in 2010 for the Michael album and was officially released as the third track and the fourth and final single on July 8, 2011.
Background[]
Michael first began to record the song back in 1998 with Brad Buxer and Michael Prince. The song's first title was "Hanson", as the song was meant for the band of the same name. Nothing came out of it. The song was later reworked one year later for the Invincible album, although it didn't make the cut. It was however released in 2004 in The Ultimate Collection box set, alongside few other outtakes.
Michael however, wasn't done with the song just yet. In 2008 and 2009, the song got reworked with Neff-U under the title "Ways You Love Me". Among other titles, it became a contender for Jackson's never-finished eleventh studio album.
After Michael's passing, "The Way You Love Me" was tampered with for the last time in 2010 for the Michael album. Neff-U returned to finish it and retitled it to "(I Like) The Way You Love Me". This version also included a voice mail, with Jackson demonstrating the song's melody and beat.
